Braillo Norway Introduces Braillo 300 S2 Braille Printer

At the World Blind Union / ICEVI General Assembly, Braillo Norway unveiled the Braillo 300 S2 production Braille printer.

See The New Braillo 300 Braille PrinterAfter providing decades of high performance Braille production, the Braillo 300 S2 (formerly the Braillo 200/300) has earned the reputation of being the most reliable production Braille printer available.  Braillo has been able to improve upon it even further by taking advantage of emerging technologies in both design and materials.  When compared to the high-speed Braillo 600/650 series printers (600 and 650 CPS, respectively), the lower operating speed of 300 CPS allowed for the introduction of lighter weight materials, components and assemblies.  These advancements in technology enabled Braillo to produce the 300 S2 at a more affordable price, while maintaining the quality, durability and longevity that characterize all Braillo Braille printers.

Patrick N. Nunnelly, Managing Director of Braillo, stated “Braillo Braille printers have always been synonymous with quality and reliability, however, they have been at a price that not everybody could afford.  Through significant testing and re-engineering, we were able to lower costs without sacrificing any of the quality attributes Braillo is known for.  Priced at $23,000 USD, the Braillo 300 S2 now introduces customers to the Braillo family at a more affordable price – a price that is the lowest in the industry for a true production Braille printer.”

Additionally, Braillo has been able to reduce the weight of the printer by 15% and re-design the case so that the user (one person) can easily open the top for basic cleaning, as well as tilt the entire case for routine maintenance.

The Braillo 300 S2 Braille printer is a reliable and dependable printer for medium to heavy Braille production.  Printing at 300 CPS (900 pages per hour) using continuous (tractor/fanfold) Braille paper, it offers exceptional dot quality and consistency.  Its combination of speed, durability, reliability and quietness are the reasons why it is used by many of the largest Braille production facilities.

Braillo is currently taking pre-orders for the Braillo 300 S2, which will begin shipping in late October 2016.
