American Thermoform Braille Paper
American Thermoform has been producing braille paper since 1988 and is the only manufacturer fully rooted in the braille industry. In collaboration with paper specialists, we developed a paper specifically designed for today’s production and desktop braille embossers. As the largest distributor of production braille embossers in North America and the parent company of Braillo Norway, we know exactly which paper produces the highest-quality braille — whether in a commercial facility or an individual’s home. Using incorrect or inconsistent paper can cause serious damage to your braille embosser. Our braille paper is manufactured at a single paper mill, ensuring consistent color and texture with every order.

The standard U.S. finished braille paper sizes (after removing the tractor feed edges) are 8.5×11” and 11×11.5”. We offer all sizes in plain or 19-hole pre-punched formats. The 19 holes are punched on the left-hand side and are designed for use with standard binding rings. If you require special sizes — such as index cards, calendars, European formats, or other custom pre-punched options — we can produce them in-house with exceptionally fast turnaround times.

We offer cut sheet (single sheet) braille paper in standard sizes of 8.5×11”, 11×11.5”, and A4, as well as any custom size or format you may require. Please contact us for special cut sheet sizes and configurations.
We sell and ship our braille paper rolls worldwide and can accommodate any size your braille embosser requires. Standard roll widths include 8.5″, 9.5”, 11″, 11.5″, and 12.5”. If you need a different size, please contact us — we’ll be happy to produce a custom roll for you.

Top things to consider when purchasing braille paper:
Quality of the paper: We offer acid-free, dust-free braille paper, manufactured from a single mill. This ensures consistent, high-quality paper for every order, making it the finest available for both production and desktop embossers.
Weight of the paper: Paper that is too thin can cause holes in braille dots, while paper that is too thick may damage your embosser. American Thermoform uses an ideal paper weight specially formulated for our needs. We offer two thicknesses — light and heavy — both rigorously tested to ensure superior braille quality.
The finished product: Clean tractor feed holes are essential for smooth operation through your embosser, and perforated edges must be precise for sheeting purposes. The holes on our pre-punched formats are clean to ensure proper binding and a quality finished product. Additionally, American Thermoform follows strict braille paper packaging guidelines to prevent folding or damage during shipment.
Shipping & turnaround time: American Thermoform ships braille paper in specially designed, triple-walled cardboard boxes to prevent damage during transit. All standard braille paper sizes are kept in stock for fast fulfillment, and standard orders are shipped the same business day they are received. Shipments can be sent via USPS, UPS, or your preferred carrier. For eligible customers under US Postal Service regulations, we can also ship via Free Matter for the Blind.
