Description
American Thermoform has been producing the highest quality braille labels since 1983. We have a specially designed adhesive that will not clog printing pins and doesn’t generate static electricity, which ultimately causes embossing issues. These braille labels are the industry standard and are used throughout the world. There are two formats of labels available – cut sheet / single sheet (Braillables) and continuous / tractor feed (Embossables), with both being the same material.
Braille is embossed onto these labels and can then be cut to size and will adhere to nearly every surface. This material is perfectly clear and ideal for book titles, labeling shelves, canned goods, and identifying objects at home, school or office. Standard finished sizes are 8.5×11”, however, please contact us should you need custom braille label sizes.
Braille labeling material can be shipped Free Matter For The Blind for those entitled, using the U.S. Postal Service. The shipping times using this method vary depending on your geographical location. If faster delivery is required, we can ship using commercial shipping services, such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL. For large orders, please contact us about palletizing, Air Freight and/or Sea Freight options
Braillables ® – The single sheet, adhesive backed, labeling material is designed for use with cut sheet / single sheet braille embossers, Perkins Braillers, slates and other cut sheet / single sheet embossing devices. ATC Braillables are coated with an anti-microbial, self-sanitizing surface and are also safe to clean with many household cleaners.
Our braille labels are a plastic-like material that can be cleaned with many non-bleach cleaners such as Lysol disinfectant spray or wipes, Windex, 409 (no bleach formula), etc. Regular cleaning can reduce the growth and transmission of germs.
Do not use any cleaners that contain bleaches, acids or coarse materials like Comet, as these can damage your labels. If you are not certain test on a small portion of your label first, or call us and we would be happy to test for you.
Our Braillables have an anti-microbial, self-sanitizing surface.
The anti-microbial product is EPA registered and is permanently bonded on the surface of the labels. That said, it does not change the way the labels feel, smell, feed through your braille embosser or hold the braille dot. The nano-sized layer breaks up germ membranes upon contact, which prevents germs from living on the surface, and inhibits the growth of bacteria and pathogens on it.
As this anti-microbial is a physical solution, it works 24/7 and does not use any toxic chemicals or metals.
This is one more weapon to add to your cleaning protocols that helps fight against germs and illness in the classroom, home or workplace.
** In our recent lab testing, please note that it is 94 – 98% effective within 2 hours of exposure, and 99% within 4 hours.
